Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) We have full-time, part-time and contractor positions for those who qualify.
Behavior/Teacher Assistants andRBTs work in the school, implementing behavior programming developed by the BCBA or BCaBA, and curriculum programming designed by the Teacher. The Behavior Assistant is required to successfully complete a 20-hour behavior assistant training class given by Behavior Services of Brevard, and complete a 22-hour course in Professional Crisis Management. Registered Behavior Technicians will have already completed a 40-hour training and taken a test through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB.com) when they apply. Behavior/Teacher Assistants are welcome to take coursework independent of BEC to become RBTs, if they choose. We will be offering the coursework at a later date.
Certified Teachers work in classrooms with small student to staff ratios and are responsible for developing curriculum/lesson plans and differentiating instruction for the needs of the students in the classroom. Teachers are required to undergo intensive behavior training so that they will be prepared to interact with students who may have challenging behaviors. Teachers combine academic lessons with the behavior program that has been developed by the BCBA and their work is supported in the classroom by behavior assistants and/or RBTs. Active teaching certificate required.
Applied behavior Analysis Interns are staff who are actively seeking certification in behavior analysis at the Bachelor’s or Graduate level. Actively seeking certification is defined as taking BACB-approved classes in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and adhering to the requirements for Independent Fieldwork as defined by the BACB. Teaching Interns are seeking their pre-graduation teaching experience and require supervision by a teacher who is qualified in Education Leadership.
